Dear PRHTA Members:
We hope this email finds you and your families safe and in good health.
On March 31st, 2020, you received a circular letter from the Executive Director of the PRTC, Carla Campos. That letter is the updated version of the executive order signed by Gov. Wanda Vazquez-Garced on March 30th, 2020.
The letter defines how you should manage the situation with your employees. Here is the information:
Industry workforce: The Executive Order provides for employees that must transit, from their places of residence to their place of employment, after curfew to be able to do so, regardless of their car license plate as established in EO 2020-029, Section 2. Employers must provide a certification to staff which may be presented to law enforcement personnel, should need be. These employees will abide by the dispositions of Section 4 of the Executive Order 2020-029.
In order to avoid any unfortunate situations, please make sure every employee has a hard copy of the circular letter as well as the letter from your property. In case they encounter a problem with the police, make sure they write down the name of the officer, location and any other information that might be helpful. Send us (PRHTA) the information with all the details so we can inform PRTC and take the necessary steps to avoid this in the future.
We have included a summary of important information received in the past days that will offer you guidance in different areas:
